That “green hosting” button
Weirdly, it works down there on the sidebar, but not on the Backdrop page, where it was originally going to go.
Anyway, we know about carbon neutrality, and I’m not above promoting such a thing in public if I can snow some poor soul into signing up for the host, inasmuch as I get a smallish kickback on the deal. (Yes, visiting Feds, this is a disclosure.)

ugh… such can backfire ya know? I think carbon credits are a huge ripoff and would prefer not to do business with a business that participates in either selling or buying them.
So, if I were looking for hosting, I would automatically NOT consider DreamHost.
Yeah, I’m perverse :-)

In fact, in case Someone In Authority were to give me any flak for this, I could easily point out that the button is not at all likely to persuade the actual readership (see, e. g., comment by Donna B., supra) and therefore cannot be construed as shilling for the service. :)

Wait-how can your site be carbon-neutral if I find I must exhale while reading it? (I can’t hold my breath that long.)

And I’m sure your millions of readers are using loads of killowatts firing up their computers to log in to read your words of wisdom.

One thing about computers: they are voracious consumers of wattage. Then again, I suspect my current XP box, especially if you include display screens, probably doesn’t suck quite as much power as my old XT-compatible, which should be considered a Good Thing.

Glad to help any way I can :-)
