The 353rd edition of Carnival of the Vanities is titled “Mac is back,” which, given Andrew Ian Dodge’s predilections, is almost certainly a reference to Apple’s flagship product, rather than to, say, what used to be IndyMac Bank, which failed last summer and isn’t back in the least, though some of the jetsam was reorganized as OneWest Bank. Inevitably, some locations were closed, including IndyMac’s outpost in San Francisco’s Lonely Financial Zone, at 353 Sacramento Street.

I just got back from Carnival of the Vanities and I wonder why I bothered. I’ve stopped by a couple of times before and I haven’t found anything worthwhile. Makes me wonder why you put up this post every week, other than to show off that you can place the number.
