Undo the clam
I picked up one of these little darbs for use around the house, impressed by its eleven functions. Regrettably, the list does not include “clamshell package opener,” not that it would have helped in the task of removing the tool itself from a clamshell package.
So maybe I need to look into one of these next.

I have three multi-tools, two of which are actual Leatherman®-made and which I carry. The one on my keychain includes scissors, which I use most often for opening those clamshell packages.

I used scissors on the Corona’s packaging, which I then dropped into the plastic trash bag in the kitchen — and one shard sliced right through the bag and onto the floor.
There’s got to be a way to do this that causes buyers no grief yet doesn’t upset retailers worried about inventory shrinkage.

Set fire to the damn things in a barbecue grill. Use ice tongs to rescue the product.

You should have gotten one of these. You’d be able to handle anything.

I have a Leatherman Wave and love it. I’ve carried it on my belt for years. It’s been invaluable for countless things from practically Day One. Amazing tool.
