Dalton (and Waldenbooks) disappointing - small niches carved out and far too often given over to "gift items" or pat-the-bunny type books for kids. Of course, I now live in a town with a small used bookstore and the few shelves' worth of space given to "general merchandise books" in my campus bookstore, so I might actually welcome one now. I suppose a lot of us have been spoiled by Amazon, or the big shiny glamourous Barnes and Nobles or Border's Books (and how I wish we had one of either in my town...) (And yeah, I know: I'm evil because I don't always buy from indie sellers...all I can say is, you get your "fixes: where you can.) Personally, I always found the mall-incarnations of B.
