Enjoy the silence

Librarian with blog encounters Crazy Lady:

“I want the whole entire world to see it. The children’s librarian told me if I want to do that, I need to start a blog.”

Oh, shit, I thought. “Oh, really?” I said aloud.

“Yes, a blog.”

“Mmhmm…” I was thinking not-very-nice thoughts about the children’s librarian.

“Do you know what a blog is?”

I smiled. “Nope.”

Think of it as one librarian’s attempt to make the world a better place — or at least to keep it from getting worse.

That whole list of Assorted Crazy Nuts & Chews (in the post you linked to at Breda’s site) is hysterical. OMG I can’t imagine working with the general public. Kudos and mega-incredulous-admiration to Breda.

So, there’s apparently one crazy person without a blog? I knew this twitter thing’d come to tears.

I think I see now how I can perhaps get rich and have a second string to my bow if I really do get fed up with teaching. I am going to create an online community for the nutbags.

I’m thinking I should quickly trademark the name “Gibber.” I think that might be the most appropriate name for it. And it would have to be a hybrid of Facebook and Twitter; with space for people to leave brief ravings but also to post photographs of things like jet contrails and the rainbows that are showing up in the water coming out of the sprinkler.

Then again, for the getting rich thing: don’t nutbags generally try to pay in paperclips, buttons, and pocket lint? Maybe not such a great idea after all.

For it to be truly Web 2.0, you’d have to call it “Gibbr.”
