My money says [Janet] Napolitano’s crazy talk is designed not to reassure the public that flying is safe, but to cut greenhouse gases by scaring the crap out of the traveling public so no one will fly. Cap and trade having failed, this is Plan B.
And, of course, if no one will fly — well, remember what happened when no one would buy cars? Exactly. If no one buys Napolitano at DHS, maybe they’ll tolerate her as Airline Czar.

If the Feds offer Cash for Clunkers for the airlines – I certainly won’t be flying until they upgrade.
