I had the pleasure of meeting Anne Jeffreys through her nephew (who was named Jeffreys after her). She is a wonderful lady full of more life than a twenty year old.

She was apparently so talented when she was a girl that her small town took up a collection to pull together the money to send her to Hollywood. The rest is celluloid history.

I looked at her IMDb page and realized I’d seen her mostly as Amanda Barrington on “General Hospital” back in the ’80s, and IMDb says she’s apparently still playing that role.

Now I’ll have to look up how old Anna Lee was the last time she appeared as Lila Quartermain. Anne may be closing in on her record.
