19 October 2006Moderate puzzlementWhen Caller ID is showing 999-999-9999, you have to figure that it's nothing you particularly want to hear: obviously someone is masking a number. But they left a message, to the extent that the little digital annoyance filter permits this sort of thing (you've got 30 seconds, make it snappy), and they identified themselves as the OCPD, with a missing-person report "in your area." After the description, they reported where he was last seen, and I recognized the address immediately: I'd been there myself for rehab. And not detox or anything like that: we're talking physical therapy here. I've got to assume, based on my own experience, that he couldn't have gotten too far. Posted at 5:23 PM to Say What?Come on-we all know the number for the Betty Ford (Coppola) Clinic is 999-999-9999. That's the best thing about blogs-you can get sarcasm from people you don't even know.
