9 November 2006Maybe they can sell them as "Plus Iron"Perrigo Company, which makes store-brand equivalents of name-brand over-the-counter drugs, some of which I use, is recalling 11 million bottles of 500-mg acetaminophen caplets after discovering metal fragments in about 200 individual pills. The company blames premature wear of its pill-stamping equipment. No injuries have so far been reported, and no severe injuries are expected. Acetaminophen is the generic form of the drug sold as Tylenol®. No Tylenol-branded products are affected by the recall. The affected batches are listed here. The insider's perspective: If the actual pill-stamping equipment is coughing up that much metal, they are in really bad shape and they REALLY should have caught that sooner.
