8 February 2007Another reason to hate winterI've covered this before, but I admit I didn't think of this angle:
Because everyone's wearing gloves, you can't spot whether or not there's a wedding band on that otherwise appealing woman standing next to you on the subway platform.
Do I admit that I do look? (Not that it makes the slightest bit of difference, of course.) And are there any statistics on the success rate of public-transit romances? And are there any statistics on the success rate of public-transit romances? I don't think this one is going to work out. Posted by: McGehee at 8:26 AM on 8 February 2007BTW, do you suppose the space shuttle qualifies as public transit? Posted by: McGehee at 8:28 AM on 8 February 2007Don't know if there are stats for that; using me as a case study, the rate would be near-zero. However, I do know someone who not only found romance on a train platform, but even moved across the country as a result. Must've been a warm day. Posted by: CT at 10:13 AM on 8 February 2007I'm not sure how many attempts these people made, but 10% of Londoners in a poll said they made a connection connection. Posted by: Joel at 12:59 PM on 8 February 2007I've heard that cruise ships rock. Is that public transport? Posted by: MP at 3:54 PM on 8 February 2007Perhaps I'll try my luck on the bus this Valentine's Day. With my luck, it sure couldn't hurt. Posted by: nina at 7:30 PM on 8 February 2007 |
