Proving e-commerce still has life

endless.com adA car dealer around these parts used to bray about all the free stuff they threw in with the deal, with the tagline "What could be better than free?" I'd like to think this would have shut him up. (Endless.com is an Amazon.com offshoot that deals in shoes and handbags, but not even Amazon Prime is offering a shipping deal this remarkable. It expires on the 28th of February. I have been so far unable to identify this specific shoe; I spotted this ad on Go Fug Yourself.)

I am at war with Amazon.com, so maybe I'm prejudiced. But I would be wary of dealing with any of their associates. Two of their customer service reps have told me that Amazon is "a giant mall" and is not responsible for the actions, policies, etc, of any of its associates. So be warned, you might receive two left shoes, or one size 7 and one size 10, and have no recourse with the vendor.

If the deal is too good to be true, chances are it isn't true.

Well, this isn't an Amazon Marketplace-type deal: the AMZ guys run this themselves.

Groucho: "Let's see, we pay you not to play.

Chico: "That's right, I don't play."

Groucho: "How much do you charge not to practice?"

Chico: "Forget it, you couldn't afford it."
