It does look 'handsome but inefficient'. But then again, look at a regular toaster. Heat goes straight up the chimney there, too. You want staid efficiency, you're looking at toaster ovens. You want sexy, you buy one of these. Or one of those call girls you're so sure about.

Just your good, basic, stainless steel no frills toaster is getting harder and harder to find.

It looks like something you could get at Williams Sonoma for just a couple of hundred books, which toasts just as well as my $10 toast--to wit, it toasts bread.

I have an ancient two-slot toaster from the late, not-especially-lamented Montgomery Ward; I am loath to toss it, inasmuch as it actually still works.

I have no idea where the art-deco-looking toaster my parents had when I was little, came from, but it reached the end of its usable life more than 15 years ago, more's the pity.

My wife and I had to replace her slightly elderly Black & Decker toaster oven a couple of years ago. We got a newer version of the same model.

I'll admit, it is rather sexy looking wouldn't mind getting it except for one little problem. The thing is wired for 208 volts instead of 120, so unless you want to run a special line to the kitchen, unplug the stove and rewire the plug on the toaster, it will not preform very good. So I guess I'll just stick with my bagel ready wal-mart toaster.

There is that, but those of us who spent much of the 1980s trying to track down obscure PAL video from Europe, and machines which would play it, have no dread of power converters, although admittedly this thing would draw more juice than most VCRs.

Sorry for the mistake. I type faster than I think. However, I wish they did take books. I have way too many.
