The Finch Formerly Known As Gold

And don't come back, now, y'heah?

Not that I have any particular reason to want to go to Renton, Washington, but if I had, it's gone now:

Ways and Means Chairwoman Margarita Prentice, D-Renton, said those who criticized the [Sonics' new arena] plan because it does not provide assurances that the team will not pull up stakes ten years from now are underestimating the strength of the region.

"Why would anybody leave here and go to Oklahoma City? Have you ever been to Oklahoma City? I have," Prentice said.

No more lamb fries for you, darlin'.

I didn't even know lamb fries existed, but now that you've told me I can't have any more, I really, REALLY want some.

"Why would anybody leave here and go to Oklahoma City? Have you ever been to Oklahoma City? I have," Prentice said.

I seem to recall similar sentiments being voiced about Sacramento in Kansas City, many years ago.

Also, they mislead:

"The Sonics' new, Oklahoma City-based ownership has said that the team's current KeyArena home is inadequate and that they may move the team out of state if they don't get a new facility."

They make it sound like WE came up with that idea. The team's previous owners started down this path, we're just taking the next logical steps.

I just returned from Seattle for a week long sojourn and its the talk of the town (the Sonics "deal"). Some folks also talk about the Reek of Renton".It seems they are the keeper of a HUGE sewage treatment plant that can become aromatic at times. But my thinking is why put it up there by the I-405/Hwy 167 interchange; thats like a snarl now. I can't imagine dumping in some basketball fans. Might be some viewing fun on the traffic cam circuit though :) But hey, I don't live there but I can say "... I've been there". ha
