Doing Music City

I had the honor of being shown the town, the town being Nashville, by Winston Rand, and he knew almost instinctively what would interest me: the hustle and bustle of Broadway at the official beginning of nightlife, the upscale West End, the not-so-upscale underbelly of downtown, a life-sized replica of the Parthenon, and for extra pleasure: ribs, fresh from Calhouns. It's a slightly crazy place, and I was glad to see it, and I was happy to have his enthusiastic guidance. And if you're a blogger, there's a small chance we didn't talk about you at dinner.

Tomorrow I leave the South behind once more, knowing that some day, Lord willing and the creek don't rise, I'll be back again.

This is totally off topic, but I came here through MT recently updated list. And your popup comments are something I've been trying to get working on my own weblog for a while now, but haven't figured it out yet. Would you please be able to share your template tags for the comments ? If not, I'd totally understand :)
Thanks, Angie

What what? You visited the Parthenon but not the public library (free music! cool cafe! really freakin' big!) or the Frist center? I've never been impressed with Calhouns, but what do I know, I'm not a ribs kinda person anyway.

Okay, so I often grumble about the place I grew up, but sometimes, I do miss it.

I'm glad we had the opportunity. It was special for me since you've been one of my role models as I sprouted and grew blog legs. Next time we'll eat catfish and check out some of the more interesting burbs. Y'all come back again real soon, ya heah...

That's okay. All the gushing about my brilliance gets old after a while.

Sya: I always thought of you as Canadian.

And if you, like Angie, want pop-up comment boxes, be advised that MT is deprecating them, and probably won't support them in 4.x. In the meantime, you can still download 2.6 templates which incorporate the popups, and which work in 3.x. (My templates, in fact, date to 2.1.)

I am Canadian. I just happened to have spent much of my childhood in Tennessee.

Sya: My apologies. And anyway, I am persuaded that a four-hour sweep is way insufficient to deal with even a fraction of that which is Nashville, so there will have to be a return engagement eventually.
