Broader broadband

This is not too awful, and I'm pretty sure there's a hard cap on upload speed: 600 kb/s. I've had FTP stuff float up at 599.8, but that's as high as it ever got.

There's a higher tier of service, but inasmuch as right now this is faster than I can get at work (we have a T1), I'm not going to complain.

Mine was pretty close on download, ~4560, but a good 70 kbps slower on upload.

Not too shabby, when the danged connection is working at all. And I suspect when it's not it's because the guy who first wired this house, during construction, should have gone instead into free-lance windshield washing as a career.

I did run a test on the T1 at work, but since it has to accommodate incoming Web traffic and other things, I didn't expect much from it. Result: around 350 kb/s in either direction.

I have the higher tier and personally feel it is worth the extra $15. a month :) What is really cool is the one meg uploads. Advertised speeds are 12,000 down and 1024 up. At speedtest.net though I typically get downloads in the 13,000's and 14,000s and the up is always very close to the obviously capped 1024.

Well, I have to jump in here too...6335 down, 1036 up, on Cox. My plan is advertised at 9k down, but I don't often see that.
