Headline in the Business section of the Oklahoman this morning: "Ad men take boomers back to the 60s."
Would it be too much to ask that some of them be left there?

I had to correct a heinous mistake in the article. She wrote "KOMA 92.5 Classic Rock station" so I was quick to remind her that it is Classic HITS and not Classic ROCK :)
Altho I still affect some of the appearance and lifestyle I acquired during the late '60s, I resent being called a baby boomer. I never boomed a baby in my life.
By the way, speaking of Jefferson, did you ever hear the rumor that the term Jefferson Airplane originally referred to the practice of using a split paper match as a roach clip?
I'd heard that. If nothing else, it more closely aligns the band with the Doobie Brothers, another California outfit which never quite enjoyed the same level of critical lionization despite making better records.
Triticale -- I did hear that, contemporaneously to the appearance of the band on the national scene. Which means little, I realize, but I think it lends credence.
Charles -- Sad to say, too many boomers (Think: Democrats.) never LEFT the '60s. That's the PROBLEM.
