The Finch Formerly Known As Gold

A hundred years young

And I consider myself blessed to have been here for about a third of it.

Oklahoma Centennial

You're doin' fine, Oklahoma.

I arrived for OU in 1983 and ended up staying through for my Ph.D. and went into medical reseach in OKC.

I kept claiming that I was just "passing through" for the first 20 years but somehow I never got around to leaving.

So I guess I am an Okie. It has been a very nice stay so far and I think it will continue.

Happy B-day folks.

The "Alley Oop" comic strip has been doing a storyline related to Oklahoma's centennial.

Anyone who only knows that Alley is a caveman, might wonder what that means.

God, Country, Oklahoma. My three loves by rank.
Women are in the top five somewhere.

Happy Birthday, Oklahoma! We Love You!

Wouldn't it have been more in line with tradition to celebrate the centennial in 2005 or 2006?

Ssshh. Nobody was supposed to see anyone sneaking into the Unassigned Lands.

Happy Birthday, OK! A state dear to my heart -- probably third in line, behind my beloved Montana and the runner-up Wyoming.
