Paging David Gates
"And Aubrey was her name,
A not so very ordinary girl or name.
But who's to blame?"
Um, what? Not a girl, you say?
Oh. Never mind.

Aubrey is a masculine name, he he. Use for girls is incorrect.
Yeah, that's what Beverly and Leslie told me.
I know someone who named her baby girl Aubrey. And I met a girl named Aubrey checking out groceries at our local Trader Joe's.
That don't make it right. My female Doctor's middle name is Bill, so I guess that is unisex now as well. I never heard the Bread song, but do like Ian Whitcomb's "I Want to Ask You a Personal Question Aubrey Dear".
When I was a kid, there was a family across the street that had named the second of their four children -- a girl -- "Billie."
I liked her, even though I was only -- what, eight? -- and I think she was fully 25% older than me.
