Review

We know some things about light: sometimes it acts like a particle, sometimes it acts like a wave, and its speed limit (a shade under 300,000 km/sec) is effectively the speed limit for the entire universe. But “some things” will likely never be “everything,” and Slow Light illuminates the latest discoveries and the practical (and maybe impractical) applications thereof. Aimed at the educated lay reader — you don’t have to be a practicing physicist to understand it — Slow Light informs and delights in equal measure.
