The Finch Formerly Known As Gold

11 November 2003

Blow, you old blue norther

Just don't do what you did on this date in 1911.

It was 83 degrees that afternoon, a record high for the date; before midnight, it had fallen to 17, a record low for the date. (Next morning it had dropped to 14.)

TrackBacks if any:

The record high and record low for the date occurring within a few hours of each other.

Only in Oklahoma. (I hope.)

BTW, whatever happened to Suzy Bogguss?

Posted by: McGehee at 2:08 PM on 12 November 2003

Actually, it happened a couple other places on that same day — Springfield, Missouri, is one — but everywhere else it happened, they've since broken either the high or the low record. Only in Oklahoma are both still intact after 92 years, probably because the difference is so huge. (There have been bigger temperature drops, some locally, but none so fast.)

Suzy is scheduled to perform at Poor David's Pub in Dallas tomorrow.
