The unofficial Hornets announcement

On the Seattle sonicscentral.com blog:

According to SonicsCentral sources, coinciding with the Seattle Supersonics petition to the league regarding the sale, New Orleans Hornets ownership, headed by George Shinn, has applied to the league to permanently stay in Oklahoma City.

The Hornets had previous[ly] maintained that they would return to New Orleans as soon as repairs and conditions made it possible.

This is unconfirmed at the moment, but you know, it sounds Shinn-ical.

To hell with Shinn, I'll take the Sonics.

Hate to sound like a broken record, but I told you so.

Shinn leaves a trail behind him wherever he goes.

I wonder how many other team-less cities there are in the nation's midsection who could, under similar circumstances, be the object of a love triangle?

Kansas City would dearly love to be in such a polygon.

Kansas City would dearly love to be in such a polygon.

They're not team-less (by which I mean, not having a team in even one of the Big Three leagues).

They're still steamed about the Kings moving to Sacramento.

Oh, that. <gloat>

Although, I don't know why I'm gloating. I have no desire ever to watch NBA basketball, and no particular animosity toward Kansas City.

A certain Best Western in nearby Liberty, on the other hand...

I generally avoid staying in Best Westerns, in Missouri or elsewhere.

(There aren't any Best Easterns, are there?)

Oh, and there's still no confirmation; Shinn's story this morning is pretty much the same one he's been telling all along.
