Cox Communications has decided to kill off its newsgroup servers after the 30th of June, contending that there is a “need to focus on other priorities, such as increasing Internet speeds and providing new services.”
I’m trying to decide what I’m going to do. I don’t get a whole lot of use out of Usenet, but I’ve had a presence there since 1996 (!), and I hate to give it up just on general principle. There are subscription services out there, so I suppose I’ll have to start with one of those.
