Ten finalists for Oklahoma’s State Rock Song will be announced at the Oklahoma History Center’s Chesapeake Events Center (lot of centers here) on Tuesday at 2:30. On the selection committee:

All except Bacharach are expected to be present for the announcement. Curiously, the final round of voting, according to the official Web site, is supposed to start Monday. Then again, I’m not likely to do any voting on Labor Day.

For the record, so to speak, yours truly nominated Wanda Jackson’s “Funnel of Love.”

Heh. I first read that phrase more as “state-rock song” and was all, “They’re writing songs about the Rose Rock now?”
