Gimme a head with hare

Mr. and Mrs. Porretto engage in some conversation:

CSO: She gave a quiz in one of her Earth Sciences classes, and for one of the questions, one student wrote: “I don’t know the answer, but here’s a bunny.”

FWP: And drew a sketch of a bunny?

CSO: Yup.

This of course harks back to the classic Bunny Meme:

I have no idea what you're talking about so here's a bunny with a pancake on its head

Oolong, the original bunny in this meme, passed away in 2003, aged eight and a half, although his memory is honored by younger bunnies, other species, and college professors.

I once half-jokingly said (not in class) that if anyone ever drew a My Little Pony in response to a question on an exam, I’d have to give them bonus points.

It has not yet happened. (I do give an exam today but this is a class not known for a sense of whimsy)

    I’m assuming you saw this.

Kid should get full credit for that.

Though now that I consider it….in not too many years, some of my students will be able to claim that they “weren’t born yet” when Oolong the bunny was alive. (They already do this to me to make me feel old when I reference the 1980 Mt. St. Helens eruption or something.)

    What a timing!
Yesterday when I was walking on Prince Street in SoHo, among small boutiques I passed a window of an “green clothing” shop (garments made out of bamboo fiber, that sort of thing). The window displayed green “grassy”
shag carpet and a manikin dressed in unexciting clothes sort of “gesturing”, inviting the customers in. At her feet there was a cute toy bunny, “feeding on the grass”.
    Or so I thought.
    Then bunny moved his ears.
