Thank you very mulct

“I suppose,” Jennifer observes, “it is awful hard to love a parasitic creature that wants nothing more than to liquefy your flesh for consumption.”

Had I not noticed that she was actually talking about chiggers, I probably would have assumed that she was advising against dating agents of the federal government.

It applies that way as well.

Got a chigger bite (2, actually) this summer.

    They became infected.

I got prescribed a sulfa drug for it.

Turned out I was allergic to it. So I spent part of a long holiday weekend covered in hives and not in my right mind, while at the same time trying to deal with a broken tooth.

So yeah, chiggers are pretty much on my s*** list.

We had a more colloquial name for those buggers in Georgia. Red Bugs. I suppose named after the rise they raise.

fillyjonk, a bad few days for you. Sorry.

    And there’s a difference?

So maybe it’s chiggers I’ve been suffering from. Good to know, I guess. Pesky as they are I still prefer them to ticks. Chiggers, unlike the government, feed for a limited time and then go away.
