Not a household word

In 1976, Cliff Richard put out an album — his twentieth, not including compilations and side projects — cheekily titled I’m Nearly Famous.

Which, coincidentally, is about the way I’d describe myself.

    He’s massively famous in England, I hear, though in the USA he’s more of a moderately-successful singer with a few Top 40 hits.

    The quoted point about the Mona Lisa is of interest — but I notice nothing is said about the artist’s own fame…
