They saw your Dyson ball

You know, there’s a lot to be said for hardwood floors:

Vacuum company Electrolux has just released the results of its survey on vacuuming habits.

Among the run-of-the-mill findings including that women vacuum more frequently than men are a few more interesting revelations.

According to the company, 4% of those surveyed admitted to vacuuming in their underwear, with 2% going completely nude.

You might guess this to be a regional sort of phenomenon:

Vacuuming in the buff appears to be a North American/Nordic habit, Electrolux says, with around 3% of those in Sweden, Norway and the U.S. admitting to it.

What I want to know is whether they empty the dust bag (or chamber) in the buff.

Among other findings: three percent of vacuumers are listening to classical music — except in Thailand, where it’s seven percent.

The full report [pdf] runs 17 pages.

    >>going completely nude

Thus becoming a line in an Amanda Marshall song.

“Vacuuming in the nude” somehow (don’t ask on what association) reminded me of an old movie about Lizzie Borden – where they’ve played out the version that she committed the murders while naked. She hacked her victims with an axe, then washed off blood and brain matter dirty mess, and put on back her clothes and bonnet.

I’ll be fully clothed and if listening to anything, in order to drown out she who must annoy me, I’ll be listening to some seriously loud prog rock. Yes, ELP, JT, KC, Genesis a la Gabriel, and some others. All else need not apply unless you have some serious classical or Jazz chops.

Okay, if 5yo granddaughter who must *also* be obeyed has anything to say about it, MLP theme songs are also acceptable…for now…

Heard anything about the My Little Pilot squadron at Vance AFB? Call signs and ponymarks?

I have mostly hard-surface floors so I rarely vacuum, I use a broom or one of those electrostatically charged cloth things. Practically DAILY, because I have long hair that tends to shed.

Generally no music and clothing is usually what I had on during the day. (This is not a job like changing the oil in one’s car; I know one of my grandmothers used to get after my grandfather for “changing the oil in his Mercury while wearing a white dress shirt!”)

@js: I’ve seen the patch worn by the training squadron. (It might even have made the front page of Fark, which surely would have stirred a level of farking outrage.)
