Recent events have pretty much left me where I’ve always been on these issues, only more so. The more I see of what people do when they have power over others, the less willing I am to acquiesce in their getting power over me. And the more I see of how each incremental victory only whets the appetites of those who crave power over me, the more determined I am that they should not only never gain another inch, the need to be rolled back, wholesale.

Our positions are almost exactly the same on each of these issues.

Increasingly, I want government to be more like a referee in that I want it in the background, not part of the game. Provide the military, decent highways, and perhaps give a helping hand up to the needy. I would give every spare penny to the politician proclaimed we have enough laws, he will vote for nothing new besides a budget. How can we possibly need thousands of new regulations and laws every year?

I’m a bit worried I might meet the same fate as Hitchbot

The whole gun thing makes your country sound very scary, to be perfectly honest. We need big automatic guns for protection? Makes me prefer to look for seat sales to London.

We do have our scary spots. The unfunny thing is, most of them are where the gun laws are the tightest. One of them is Philadelphia, where the bot was apparently stomped to death:

I don’t think I’d have shot this perp, but …
