And some happy new gear

Manolo Blahnik sends his regards:

The man clearly knows how to get my attention.

Then again, when I was a mere prat, “second Advent” meant something more than the second Sunday after Advent: it meant the Second Coming, apocalypse now, horsemen and all, guess it’s time for the Judgment Day.

Oh, well. Bye, Feliz navidad.

If I had $1016, and legs from 20 yrs ago, I’d buy those in a sec.

“second Advent” – not to be pointed by atheist me, but isn’t they meant the Advent calendar kinda thing? A little present for every day before Christmas?

    You’ve pessimistic nature, Chaz

It’s the difference between Catholicism and the older Protestant denominations (Anglicanism, Lutheranism, etc.) on one hand, and certain other Protestant denominations (some flavors of Baptists, for example), I believe.

We had Advent calendars in my day, you may be sure, but we didn’t count off weeks in that manner.
