It’s a whole new Lynn

Well, not entirely new: she’s still at the same URL and she’s still running b2, but the new, improved, arguably less dissonant title is: Violins and Starships.

Tagline: “a little bit 18th century, a little bit 24th century…”

Which, you’ll note, averages out to 21st.

I’m still partial to “Reflections in d minor”, but that’s so 2005.

The best genre title I ever heard was for a friend’s unproduced Western spoof, ‘Horseshit & Gunsmoke’. (This predated ‘Blazing Saddles’.)

There must be an equivalent nomenclature for the sci-fi genre, and ‘Spaceballs’ isn’t it. ‘Mars Attacks’ is at least in the ballpark. ‘Love and Rockets’ was good but it never really, uh, took off. Someone get McGehee in here. Anyone who can work a jibe out of Avogadro’s constant can come up with a decent sci-fi genre spoof title.

Um… was that what we were talking about?
