Mix and match and mix some more

Not so long ago, I showed you a Simplicity Pattern advertisement from 1974 which proposed nine different skirts that could be worn with the same top.

The next step was obvious. One pair of jeans, ten tops:

I tracked down the next issue of the magazine where I found these; there was apparently no third entry in the series. Too bad.

    Crikey, those styles take me back. I had a t-shirt almost like that butterfly one. And I had a denim “Western” shirt with embroidery on the yoke.

    I’m thinking 1970s style was more fun and cuter than 1980s style. I have no grounds to support that other than personal ones:

    1. No matter how awful the past may have been, the farther you are from it, the better it looks

    2. I was happier (small child) in the 1970s than I was in the 1980s (pre-teen and teen)
