Chewy, chewy

Or maybe it’s not. I haven’t tried it:

Newport Jerky Company offers 16 varieties of buglunch at several price points. For a mere $12.99, you can get, um, Mixed Pupae.

Well, it comes from a critter, so I guess it qualifies as “meat….”

(Odd thought: I wonder if tarantula would be considered kosher or not. Probably not, kinda like shellfish….)

Betcha it’s an endangered species. We humans are terrible about caring about that.

If it’s “overfishing” when it’s red snapper, what is it when it’s tarantulas?

It was only recently that invertebrates were given a place on the endangered list; this particular spider apparently isn’t on it. However, it’s considered a popular pet, which probably doesn’t help.

She’ll be all right. And I think that the fact that it took so long to put invertebrates on the list at least somewhat supports her point.
