Clearly, “dude” abides.

I grew up in California, but first time I heard “dude” used to a non-male (other than on TV) was in Fairbanks, Alaska.

Dude is a way of life, really. It’s like meow, it can mean anything.

“Guys” also seems to have become gender-neutral. My mom complains about its wide use but it doesn’t really bug me. (I might be more prone to say “y’all” these days, but “guys” doesn’t bother me)
