Too old to understand tech

I hate when people say that. I was online when a lot of them were still on Similac.

So this is kind of a relief:

You damn betcha.

Ha ha! I saw that one, too. It’s nice to know I’m not alone in my electronic paranoia and self-protection.

My graduate advisor (and also my dad, now I think of it) got a version of the Nigerian Prince Scam via *postal mail.” Yup, an air-mail letter claiming that they and only they could help get money out of the country for the guy.

My dad laughed and threw it away.
My advisor looked at it and said “Could this be for real? Could this be a real thing?” and I was like “ha ha ha, no, throw it away.”

So yeah, I can claim to be so old I remember a time when the Nigerian Prince Scam came by postal mail.

Jeez, I can remember when chain letters were a thing. Now it’s all, “Share this on social media!”

“If you don’t repost this, you don’t love Jesus!”

    Feh.
