And here we are

There is a limit to how much I’m willing to endure, and some time today I reached it. We are now running WordPress 2.6.1. All of the old posts remain in their original locations; posts for this month were imported to WP and can be read here. It will be a while before I have links up to everything else, the way I used to.

This is a pretty standard WP install, and you’ll have to do the registration thing to comment herein.

Anyway, welcome to the future, such as it is, and we’ll see if things don’t improve a notch or three.

Glad to see you’ve gotten it going again. However, I expect that there’ll be considerable improvement in the appearance over the next few days and weeks.

Actually, I kind of like the looks of this particular template, though I’ve already customized rather a lot of stuff behind the scenes. Still, I was born to twiddle, so expect changes now and then.

Four years ago I flipped a coin between Movable Type and WordPress, and WordPress won. I’ve never regretted it. Hope the switchover goes smoothly for you!

The only quibble I have with the new look is the absence of next/previous links.

And the bird is better-portrayed. I approve.

Geez, even the bird looks different. But looking good! The register/login for comments is a bit offputting, though.

Feel free to tap me for any WP knowledge I can drop; after 4 years of tweaking/cursing it, I have something of a grasp of it.

And I’m realllllllly hoping you re-implement the comments popups. Only because you and me are pretty much the last advanced blogging-types to use them, and you’ve got heaps more clout than me. As for how to do that in WP, take a gander here.

    I like it.

Wow, the site is so … fast!

Chalk me up as another throwing my hat in for tech support. I happened across WordPress several years ago and have been running it ever sense. I’ve done a lot of tweaks and installed a lot of plug-ins over the years. If you run into issues, lemme know.
