Quote of the week

Advice to the Republican Party, by Robert Stacy McCain:

At some basic level, politics is about popularity. When the other guys nominate Will Smith and you nominate Mister Magoo, no grand ideological theory or demographic trend is necessary to explain why you got your ass kicked.

Not even Betty Rubble could have saved that ticket.

LOL!!!!!!!!!!!!!! The sad part is that a lot of idiots out there actually believe that Sarah Palin is a viable candidate in 2012. When the TRUE Conservatives bailed on this ticket, it should habe sent a loud message. It did for me but then I’m an independent who mostly hates politicians.

Maybe not Betty Rubble, but Betty or Veronica could have.

But as a Democrat, I say Run, Sarah, Run. Put Sarah on the ticket for President in 2012. Yeah, do it.

But she’s alright voting for politicians from a corrupt urban political machine, backed by the major players in the subprime scandal, who had no accomplishments to his name, but his ability to demagogue issues, run a campaign with almost total support from the media, and a history of disqualifying opponents from the ballot. The irony that someone who had challenged the entire political establishment, negotiated massive gas pipeline negotiations, was painted as a non entity. The cold reality is that McCain had ticked off the right on so many occasions, that even when he proffered someone like Sarah, it was not enough. The deliberate campaign of lies, omissions and slanders directed against her didn’t help either.

By the way, Chaz, Morgan proved your contention right, once again, although he didn’t use the world intelligent. So I apologize, even you’re ‘tongue in cheek’, you’re on target.

Actually, getting 46% of the vote in a year any GOP candidate would’ve lost was quite good.

    I hope you’ll pardon me if I don’t accept a self-proclaimed independent’s definition of “true conservative.”

All the conservatives I know were lukewarm at best toward McCain until he named Palin to the ticket.
